A story ...

{A beautiful display at Fort Bridger, Wyoming}

For the last two or three years I've had a story hanging on to the edges of my brain ...  I still don't know all of its details, but it is becoming more clear every day. You can see the images I've been gathering to help me turn my thoughts into something more tangible here: A Story.

This is what I know so far:

This is the story of a people who are rebuilding after a major war and societal change, but it is mostly a love story ... not the kind about two young adults that just met ... this is a love story of a married couple who have to face the challenges of overcoming race, religion, and old lovers.

I was going to wait to introduce them to you until later, but after months of listening I finally heard the husband's name and it put me in a frenzy.

This is what happened:

I was sitting here, patiently waiting for any tidbits like I always do, when I looked at his picture one last time and - POW - there it was ... a name I've never heard before, but it seemed so perfect. I quickly yelled it out {which made my husband look at me strange} and began looking it up online. Turns out it is an old Irish name that means rock or powerful in battle ... I couldn't have given him a better name on my own! I've had the wife's name from the very beginning and so finally, after months of learning more about them, I'd like to introduce you to Ellenach and Callin.

I am learning to love these people. I mean I absolutely LOVE them. I am learning about their strengths and their weaknesses. Little by little, they are sharing with me their feelings and slowly opening up and telling me who they are. Sound weird? Maybe it is ... but they are truly becoming real people to me.

My main fear about sharing their story is I am a storyteller ... not a writer. Hopefully I do these amazing people justice ... hopefully you will get to see how beautiful they are ... hopefully their story will touch your heart like it is touching mine.
